EQUIPMENT AND PRINT TECHNICAL INFORMATION
For years many of the
images were captured on slide film transparencies and converted to digital
for printing through Photoshop. The film used was mainly tight grain
Fujichrome Velvia, ASA 50 or 100, then scanned into the computer at 4,000
PPI. This resulted in almost no loss of information in the digital
transformation from the original slides.
All images are tripod
stabilized. Cameras and lens systems have included medium format Mamiya 645, Minolta and Canon in 35mm
film,
and captured digitally with a Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II 16.7 mega pixel camera
with Canon lenses ranging from 17 to 500 mm. Today the
images are primarily captured with Canon 5D and Rebel XTi digital cameras. These images are
captured RAW and processed in Photoshop CS3. They are then printed on an
Epson 2200 printer using archival pigmented inks and matching Epson print
paper offering prints estimated to archive at least 75 years.
Print sizes are very
slightly smaller than the 13 by 19 inch and 8 ˝ by 11 inch “canvas size”
they are printed on. The non printed border is only about 1/8 inch wide.
Signed prints will be carefully rolled in tissue for tube shipping.
Images can be shipped dry mounted on mount board for an additional mounting
and shipping fee.
